Swap meet, track laps, concerts, burnout contest, food trucks and more
TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (May 22, 2018) —Utah Motorsports Campus is celebrating Memorial Day Weekend with the Second Annual Cruzer Palooza Car Show and Swap Meet.
Last year’s inaugural event was very well received, prompting track officials to proceed with the second annual show this weekend, offering even more fun attractions and activities for fans and participants.
“Most car shows are held in a parking lot, or in a large building somewhere,” said Willem Geyer, General Manager of UMC. “When you have a world-class racetrack to host your car show, it opens up a lot of fun possibilities.”
In addition to the car show, the weekend-long event will kick off with a concert on Friday at 7:00 pm featuring the Flashback Brothers to cap off Move-In Day, along with a variety of food trucks and beer sales.
The actual car show runs Saturday and Sunday, along with what is expected to be a much larger swap meet. Gates open at 9:00 am both days. On Saturday, fans can purchase Hot Laps, during which they will get to ride as a passenger in a race car supplied by DXDT Racing, between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon, and from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, at $75/ride. A burnout contest is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
For those who want to drive on the track themselves, UMC is offering its Wide Open Wednesday (called Wide Open Weekend for this event) program on a Saturday for the first time, from 5:30 – 8:00 pm, for $25/car. Drivers will be required to have their car pass a safety inspection, and helmets are required (rental helmets available). The day will end with another concert at 8:00 pm featuring the Tri-Chevys, with beer sales and food trucks available.
The car show will conclude on Sunday, with awards being presented at 2:00 pm, and parade track laps for all entered cars following the awards ceremony.
A Kid Zone will be available for the young fans all weekend, a number of commercial vendors will be onsite and public karting will be available at the UMC Kart Center throughout the event.
Spectator admission is free to all for this event, but there are RV accommodations available for those who would like to spend the weekend onsite.
Utah Motorsports Campus is managing the facility formerly known as Miller Motorsports Park on behalf of Tooele County while the procedures to sell the facility take place.
Mitime Utah Investment, LLC, the parent company of Utah Motorsports Campus, has agreed with the Tooele County Board of Commissioners to an extension of the existing facility management agreement through December 31, 2018.

Utah Motorsports Campus is Utah’s largest outdoor event venue. Nestled in the picturesque Tooele Valley and framed by the Oquirrh and Stansbury mountain ranges just south of the Great Salt Lake, our 511-acre campus is primarily known as one of North America’s finest motorsports facilities, but it is so much more than that!
Over the years, we have hosted a myriad of Salt Lake group events of all types: concerts, athletic events, television and movie productions, schools, shows, conferences, meetings, parties, reunions…even weddings! Of course, we do a lot of corporate entertaining and team- and morale-building events as well.
UMC boasts an expert team of event planners who can help you realize your vision for the perfect event. They can work with you to custom-design just about anything you can dream up, limited only by your budget and imagination.
If you’re planning an outdoor event, we’re an easy 30-minute drive from downtown Salt Lake City. We have acres of paved and unpaved surfaces with plenty of adjacent parking. If an indoors event is what you’re seeking, we have a variety of rooms that range from classrooms and meeting spaces to a full banquet hall. WiFi and audio/visual services are available, as is catering to fit any taste or budget.
Many events are self-contained, but we can help augment your outing with some of our fast-fun activities if you desire. The UMC Kart Center can put on a race for your group, or we can offer our very popular Pit Stop Challenge competition, in which participants do timed pit stops on an actual NASCAR stock car and compete for best times. We have a new offroad driving experience, which utilizes our fleet of Polaris Ace 570 ATVs on the off-road racing track that annually hosts the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.
If your group would like to race virtually, we have a bank of state-of-the-art racing simulators – the same machines and software used for training by professional racing drivers – and we can set up a series of races to see who has the right stuff!
Another popular group event option includes race tickets and hospitality suites during one of our big races. We can put your group right on top of all the action, and enhance the experience with closed-circuit video, catering, WiFi and custom touches as desired.
Additional information is available online here. There are small differences between a good event and a great one, and we know all of them. If you’re planning a Utah or Salt Lake City-area event, get in touch and let our outstanding event planning staff explain them to you!
The Salt Lake City metro area is a booming environment for business. Every month, new companies are moving here or starting up. The term “Silicon Slopes” has been coined to refer to the area, which is now home to a cluster of information technology, software development, hardware manufacturing and research firms along the Wasatch Front. Among the big names in the technology industries are companies such as SanDisk and the Intel/Micron joint venture IM Flash Technologies, video game software development companies EA Sports and data analysis software including Adobe Systems.
These are very competitive businesses and industries, and they seek out the best and brightest employees to enhance their strength. However, to attract the top employees, a company must provide the best atmosphere and benefits. One of the ways they do this is to create corporate events for their employees, prospects and customers that are fun and memorable.
Utah Motorsports Campus (UMC) specializes in creating special Salt Lake City corporate events for groups ranging from 10 to 10,000, utilizing a variety of exhilarating interactive experiences, catering designed to match your budget, a selection of different-sized meeting or hospitality spaces and exclusive custom touches that are only limited by your imagination.
UMC is a state-of-the-art, 511-acre facility located in Grantsville, a convenient 30-minute drive from the Salt Lake City metro, situated between the Oquirrh and Stansbury Mountains just south of the Great Salt Lake in Tooele County. If you are planning a Salt Lake City corporate event of any type – a banquet, meeting, conference, or just a fun day out – we have a team of experienced event planners who can create an outing that your guests will enjoy and remember for years to come.
Many of the Salt Lake City corporate events we create include our Group Karting program. The UMC Kart Center has a dedicated, state-of-the-art go-kart track and a new fleet of go-karts that will achieve speeds up to 50 mph. This is a perfect platform for team-building, nurturing business relationships or rewarding employees. We have a variety of options to choose from to fit your group’s individual requirements. It’s like we always say: You never really know your friends or colleagues until you trade a little paint with them on the kart track!
If your group is into off-roading, our UMC Kart Center recently acquired a group of Polaris Ace 570 ATVs that are available for group off-road experiences. These are remarkably capable off-road machines, and can be used to create a very unique Salt Lake City corporate event. Our off-road experiences take place on UMC’s Off Road Short Course, the same one used by the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.
Group Sim Races
Less physical, but still very engaging mentally, is one of our newest additions at UMC, Group Sim Races. The UMC Kart Center has installed a bank of four state-of-the-art racing simulators. These are Sim Experience machines utilizing iRacing full-motion software, and each unit includes three 50-inch screens. These are the most advanced racing simulators available to the public in North America, and identical to the units used for training by professional racing drivers. Let us enhance your Salt Lake City corporate event by pitting your guests against each other for a thrilling virtual racing experience!
Meetings and Banquets
UMC offers a selection of meeting spaces suitable to accommodate groups of all sizes for your Salt Lake City corporate event. Our meeting spaces range from classrooms and hospitality suites to our Legends Hall banquet facility, and we can offer full audio-visual support, WiFi and catering. Over the years we have hosted meetings, sales rallies, conferences, product launches and even weddings and reunions. If you can imagine it, we can create it.
No matter where you go, a successful Salt Lake City corporate event can succeed or fail based on the quality of the food service. Our professional food service team offers a menu to fit any budget, ranging from casual hot dogs and hamburgers to elegant pre-plated dinners with china and linens. We also offer beer and full alcohol services, as well as audio-visual support and WiFi.

The MotoAmerica Championship represents the top level of motorcycle road racing in North America. It serves as our national championship, similar to those run in other countries such as Spain, England, Japan, France, Australia, etc. There are only two steps above a national championship, those being the Superbike World Championship and the MotoGP World Championship.
MotoAmerica and its teams and riders have been a fixture at Utah Motorsports Campus since the track was opened as Miller Motorsports Park in 2006. Many of the world's top riders and teams have competed here over the years, including such internationally-renowned riders as Mat Mladin, Ben Spies, Josh Hayes, Cameron Beaubier, Toni Elias and many more.
This year's appearance for MotoAmerica in Utah will take place over the weekend of July 20-22. It will be the sixth round of the 10-round championship, so the title battles should be in full swing. The MotoAmerica Championship of Utah will feature five classes: the headlining Motul Superbike Championship for modified 1000cc bikes; the Supersport Championship for modified 600cc bikes; the Liqui Moly Junior Cup for small-bore sport bikes (replaces the KTM RC Cup series); the Twins Cup (new series for modified twin-cylinder bikes); and the Stock 1000 Championship (for stock 1000cc bikes).
The tentative schedule for the MotoAmerica Championship of Utah includes practice and qualifying on Friday, with free admission for all spectators, with more qualifying and a couple of races on Saturday and the remainder of the races on Sunday.
If you've never experienced a top-level Superbike race, you owe it to yourself to see, hear and feel these amazing machines for yourself. The fastest bikes will approach 190-200 mph at the end of the 0.75-mile front straight heading into Turn 1 on our 3.048-mile Outer Course, leaning over so far to grab that last millimeter of traction that they will literally drag their elbow and knee on the pavement. Multiply that image by 25-30 bikes, and you begin to realize the level of excitement that is MotoAmerica Superbikes.
The MotoAmerica Championship of Utah is a family-friendly event, with plenty to do for everyone. There will be autograph sessions with the riders, a variety of yummy food options, lots of displays and vendors and the UMC Kart Center will be open for kart rentals throughout the weekend.
Tickets for the MotoAmerica Championship of Utah are currently on sale, starting at $39/day and $69/weekend for adults. Kids 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. There are also numerous RV, camping and VIP options available.
One very special VIP option is the Full Throttle Experience, which includes the following for only $119:
This sort of behind-the-scenes access is normally unavailable at any price, so this is an outstanding opportunity and value!
